Railbiking is a unique experience found only in Gisborne and Mahia.

We use an amazing purpose-built side-by-side tandem ‘Railbike’ that rides on the actual rail tracks, it’s the only one of its kind in the world, We have both e-bikes and standard bikes.

There are three separate highly scenic rides on the disused Gisborne railway each starting at a different location and each using a different section of the line.

IMPORTANT – All tours have fixed start times and must be booked online ahead of time, we do NOT do phone bookings.

IMPORTANT – Under our Rail Operators Licence some conditions MUST be met by participants:

– All participants must be 18 years and over.
– We are not permitted to take infants.
– All participants must weigh less than 130 kg.
– A railbike MUST have two riders.
– We do NOT do phone bookings.

railbikes cannot be ridden by a solo rider. If you have an odd number in your group, please contact us to arrange how we can accommodate this.
